The “grubbers” are back...
The Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos arrived today to perform some of their woodworking skills on our big grey gum down at the dam.Beetle larvae - juicy, high protein grubs - slowly make their way through the sapwood but some come to a sticky end as food for the hard working cockatoos. When working, the strong beak makes a wrenching sound as large chunks are torn from the trunk.
